Latest news & coverage
Showing the latest saved selection. Checking news sources…
Headlines link to the original publishers. Organisation updates are labelled separately from coverage naming the individual. Wangari Maathai’s coverage concerns her legacy and the continuing work of the movement she founded. Older items are marked as archive. The desk displays stories returned by its selected RSS feeds and is not a complete archive of every story ever published.
News sources and selection
Free Google News RSS searches provide a cross section of publisher coverage. The Green Belt Movement’s own RSS feed adds first-party updates. The feeds search each person and their associated organisations. All matching items returned by those feeds are dated, deduplicated, and sorted by publication date; how far back results go depends on each feed. Coverage is presented by publication date. Search across the collection or filter by individual and SDG focus. SDG filters use the goals associated with each profile; they do not imply that every article addresses every associated goal. Feed headlines are published as supplied, without implying GLOW endorsement or independent verification. A saved selection remains visible if a feed is unavailable.
WHY GLOW EXISTS
Recognising contribution.
Sharing what works.
Progress has a human face. GLOW exists to recognise the people doing remarkable work for a more sustainable, equitable world — and help their ideas inspire action beyond their own communities.
Nominate a leader01 /
Celebrate the person.
Make room for the quiet doers, the community builders, and the leaders whose work speaks louder than their profile.
02 /
Show the substance.
Put the work, its context, and supporting evidence alongside the story. Recognition should mean something.
03 /
Let inspiration travel.
Share approaches others can learn from, adapt, and carry forward. A story can be the beginning of someone else’s action.
A SHARED FRAMEWORK
Different paths. Shared goals.
